Chair Yoga (Sunday, 11:30am) – is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting. It improves your flexibility, concentration and strength, while boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint pain. Some poses can also be done standing while using a chair as support. You can do chair yoga nearly anywhere you can find a place to sit.
Hatha Yoga (Wednesday, 4pm) – most forms of yoga in the West can be classified as Hatha yoga. It simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures. The word ‘hatha’ can be translated two ways: ‘willful’ or ‘forceful’, the yoga of activity, or, as ‘sun’ (ha) and ‘moon’ (tha), the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body, mind and spirit in preparation for meditation.
Yin Yoga (Friday, 4pm) – works deeply into our body with passive, longer-held poses. It targets our connectives tissues such as the ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. This is a contrast to the Yang yoga practice such as Vinyasa yoga which focuses on the muscles. Yin yoga improves the energy flow, enhancing the flow of chi in the organs. It also offers wonderful emotional and mental benefits.

Yoga is an excellent way for older adults to loosen and stretch painful muscles, reduce stress and improved circulation. It also reduces anxiety, helps lower blood pressure, protects joints and builds strength and balance.
What to Expect
Breathwork, meditation and age-appropriate poses.
We start and end with breathing exercises and meditation. We do stand for a few poses but the chair is always available to hold onto for balance. The class is accompanied by quiet, calming music.
